Forgotten Administrator Passwords

There is no method in Time and Attendance Plus to reset the administrator password. This is an obvious security measure to prevent employees from re-setting the password to make trouble or enter fraudulent data. If you forget your password then you'll need to contact TSMTS support to get it it reset for you. Here's the process to follow to get your password reset.

  1. Locate the Time and Attendance Plus database file. By default this file can be located here: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Time and Attendance Plus\Database\taplus.mdb. If you've moved the database then you'll know where it is.
  2. If you're looking for the above file and cannot find it, or cannot find the directory then you may find that you need to change a Windows Explorer setting. By default system files and folders are hidden on MS Windows, and you will need to turn on their display. Take a look here to learn how to turn on the display of system files and folders.
  3. Once you've located the database file email it to our support staff at support@timeandattendanceplus.com. It is best to email this at the end of your working day because you cannot use the software while we have your data file. Generally we will return the database to you within 24 hours.
  4. Once you have received your database back from us replace your existing one with the database we have sent you. As a matter of priority you should change the administrator password to something more secure than the default setting we have re-set it to.
