Global payroll rules and settings can be set on the Payroll Settings page. You can control settings such as overtime limits and calculation periods, report rounding, and automatically applied breaks here. For more information please see the following table.
| Pay Daily Overtime | Check this box to pay daily overtime. |
| Pay Daily Overtime After | The hourly limit after which daily overtime should be applied can be entered here. |
| Pay Weekly Overtime | Check this box if you pay weekly overtime. |
| Pay Weekly Overtime After | The hourly limit after which weekly overtime should be applied can be entered here. |
| Length of Work Week | The length of the work week can be entered here. This setting is used to calculate the equivalent hourly rate for salaried employees. |
| Overtime Calculation | You can select how overtime is calculated here. Overtime can be calculated on a daily basis, weekly basis, or both. |
| Report Time Rounding | Optionally you can decide to round all time and attendance information for reporting purposes. You can round to the nearest minute, 1/10th of an hour, 15 minutes, or 30 minutes. Without the Least Quantity box ticked Time and Attendance Plus uses normal rounding rules. So, if you have your rounding set to 30 minutes and someone clocks in before 7:45:00 AM their time will be rounded down to 7:30:00AM. If someone clock in on or after 7:45:00AM their time will be rounded up to 8:00:00AM. |
| Least Quantity | Check this box if you have rounding enabled and you want to always round up clock-in times and round down clock-out times. This will over ride the normal rounding rules and always results in the minimum hours worked value for the given clock in/out times and the rounding value. |
| First Day of Week | The first day of the working week can be selected here. |
| First Day of Fiscal Year | The first day of the fiscal/financial year can be selected heare. This date is used for vacation and sick time accruals. |
| Automatically Apply Breaks | Check this box to automatically apply breaks to employees. |
| Apply Breaks After | The number of hours after which you want to apply automatic breaks can be entered here. If an employee works more than this time without a clock out then they will automatically have a break applied for reporting purposes. |
| Apply Breaks Of | The length of automatically applied breaks (in minutes) can be entered here. |
| Paid Holidays Affect Overtime | If you want employees who get paid holidays to have these holidays affect their overtime then you'll need to check. For example, if a week has one 8 hour holiday then the weekly overtime limit will be reduced by 8 hour. |
| Sick/Vac Time Affect OT | If you want sick or vacation time taken effect overtime calculations then you'll need to check this box. If checked an employee taking 8 hrs sick or vac time in a week have this time included in calculations to determine if they are entitled to overtime or not. |
