To enable the Keypad Interface of Time and Attendance Plus switch it on using the the Tools & Options->Options->Interface Settings Menu. The keypad mode of Time and Attendance Plus requires your employees to clock in/out using their employee id / badge number. Very simple to use, this interface requires that employees enter their badge number either using a keyboard or the numeric keypad provided and then press enter or click the Enter button.
A major benefit of the keypad interface is that it can be used very easily with magnetic card readers or bar code scanners. In fact, if your hardward device has a keyboard wedge you dont need to use any drivers or special software to get them working. Using a barcode scanner or magnetic card reader with Time and Attendance Plus is as simple as encoding your barcodes or magnetic cards with the employee ID/badge numbers you use in the software. Connect your hardware to the keyboard port of your PC and scan the code or card and you'll see the keypard interface automatically populated with the employee ID. In most cases your scanner or card reader will automatically press the enter button on the keypad interface, making clocking in and out a very simple task.
The keypad interface is designed to be able to be used with touch screens as small as 12". The keypad interface includes all the required functions to allow it to be used without a mouse or keyboard (such as deleting characters and so on).
