Are your company and staff spread over a large site making collection of time and attendance data difficult? Perhaps the idea of making your staff clock in and out from one location is too hard to coordinate and you want them to be able to record their attendance directly from their own computers? When used in multi user mode Time and Attendance Plus allows you to make use of all of the powerful time and attendance features of the single user version of the software but allows you to have distributed data collection. The data is collected in one location and can be used to produce your payroll reports in just minutes rather than hours.

Setting up the multiple user version is as simple as downloading and installing the normal Time and Attendance Plus program onto a computer in your company. You can configure the system to suit your particular employee structure and to comply with your payroll software rules. Then for each computer you want to act as a Clock In / Out station you will download and install the Time and Attendance Plus Client program. After installation of the client program you'll be able to use that computer to collect your time and attendance information.

A basic setup for the multi user version of Time and Attendance Plus is shown in the following diagram:

In this setup a single computer has been designated the Time and Attendance Plus administrator computer, the normal Time and Attendance Plus program has been installed on this PC. This computer will be used to do all of the software configuration and reporting. The database that stores all of the Time and Attendance Plus information has been re-located to a network server using the System Options page of Time and Attendance Plus. Three computers have been designated to collect time and attendance data and have had the Time and Attendance Plus Client program installed on them. When this software is installed a setup screen allows each installation to be connected easily to the database that was moved to the network server. This means that all data collected by the three client computers will be stored centrally in the same database.

Backend Databases

Time and Attendance Plus uses a Microsoft Access 2000 database to store all of its information. This is reliable for up to a 20 client installation. If you need extra reliability and speed or more than 20 clients then Time and Attendance Plus also optionally supports SQL Server or MSDE. If you have SQL Server it is strongly recommended that you make use of it with Time and Attendance Plus.
